EV Charger Installation
Zappi, Hypervolt, Ohme, Andersen and more — OZEV-grade installs.
From £799 fitted
Charging an EV at home is the single biggest unlock for solar self-consumption. Our installers fit smart, solar-aware chargers from every leading brand — and if you're combining the install with solar, we can pre-wire and discount accordingly.
Solar-aware charging
Chargers like the Zappi, Hypervolt and Ohme can divert excess solar generation directly into your EV — meaning many summer miles cost nothing. Battery + solar + smart EV charging is the most cost-effective transport setup available.
Brands we install
Zappi (myenergi), Hypervolt 3, Ohme ePod and Home Pro, Andersen A2, Wallbox, Easee, Pod Point Solo 3. All brands carry 3-year minimum warranties.
Tariff optimisation
We configure your charger to dovetail with Octopus Intelligent Go, Octopus Go, OVO Charge Anytime or similar — automatically charging when prices drop.
Load management and DNO approval
Every new home charger over 3.6 kW requires DNO notification (or pre-approval above 7.4 kW in some networks). We submit the paperwork for you, and where your incoming supply or fuse rating limits a 7 kW install we fit load-balancing modules (e.g. Zappi CT clamp, Hypervolt load shedding) so the charger throttles instead of tripping the main fuse.
Cable runs and aesthetics
Most homeowners care more about how the cable run looks than the charger itself. We offer concealed garage-soffit routing, buried armoured runs to detached driveways, and colour-matched conduit on render and brick. Quotes always include a photo-marked-up cable plan before any drilling begins.
Government grants for renters and flats
The OZEV EV chargepoint grant of £350 is still available for flat owners, leaseholders and landlords meeting the eligibility criteria. We handle the application end-to-end, including the off-street parking declaration and proof of EV ownership / lease.

FAQs
What people ask
How long does EV charger installation take?
Most installs take 3-5 hours. More complex installs (long cable runs, sub-board upgrades) can take a full day.
Can my consumer unit handle an EV charger?
Most modern boards can, but we always check. Older boards may need an upgrade — included in the quote.
Will the charger work in a power cut?
Standard chargers won't — they need grid power. If you have a battery with whole-home backup (e.g. Tesla Powerwall 3, GivEnergy AIO with backup gateway), the charger can continue at a reduced rate during an outage, which is increasingly popular in rural Surrey, Sussex and Hampshire.
Can I install now and add solar later?
Yes. We pre-wire for a CT clamp and leave a labelled spare conductor at the consumer unit, so adding solar-aware diversion at a later date is a 30-minute job rather than a full re-pull.
