Solar Panel Cleaning
Professional, IPAF-rated, deionised-water cleaning.
From £99
Dirty panels cost you money. Pollen, salt, bird droppings and Saharan dust events can shave 5-10% off your yield. Professional deionised-water cleaning from the ground (or roof, with IPAF cherry-picker access where needed) restores generation safely.
Our process
Telescopic pole-fed deionised water cleaning is our default — safe, scratch-free, and avoids the warranty risks of detergent-based cleaning. Cherry-picker access is available for awkward roofs.
How often?
Most South East homes benefit from a clean every 18-36 months. Coastal properties and homes near agricultural land typically need annual cleans.
What soiling actually costs you
Independent UK testing (BRE, 2022) shows uniform soiling of 5-7% across an array is typical after two years without cleaning. On a 5 kWp system in Kent generating ~4,750 kWh/year that's around 300 kWh lost — roughly £85 in self-consumed value plus £20 in export, every year, indefinitely. A £149 clean every two years comfortably pays back.
Coastal and rural specifics
Properties within 2 km of the coast (Margate, Hayling Island, Bognor, Seaford) develop salt films that bind dust and reduce light transmission faster than inland homes. Properties near oilseed rape, livestock farms or busy A-roads pick up pollen and oily particulate that rain alone struggles to shift. We adjust frequency and pole-tip configuration accordingly.
Safety and warranty considerations
We work to PASMA / IPAF standards, never use abrasive brushes, never apply pressurised hot water (which can stress laminates and void warranties), and never walk on panels — many manufacturer warranties are voided by foot traffic. Every clean is photo-documented before and after for your records.

FAQs
What people ask
Should I clean my own panels?
Strongly discouraged. Roof falls are a leading cause of UK accidental death, and incorrect cleaning can void warranties.
Will rain not clean them for me?
Rain handles loose dust well but barely touches bonded soiling, bird droppings, pollen films or salt deposits. Soiling rebuilds on a roughly two-year cycle even on rain-washed roofs.
Do you clean integrated (in-roof) panels?
Yes — in-roof systems are no different to clean and we use the same deionised pole-fed system. The flashings and surrounding tiles get a check at the same time.
Can you combine cleaning with a maintenance visit?
Yes, and most customers do — bundled visits save around £40-£60 versus booking separately and you get a single comprehensive report.
