You don't need £10,000 in the bank to install solar. We work with FCA-regulated lenders to offer competitive finance — including genuine 0% APR options on qualifying installs — so most homeowners' monthly savings exceed their monthly repayment from day one.
Finance options
Buy-now-pay-later (12 months), 0% APR over 24 months on qualifying packages, longer-term 5-10 year unsecured loans at competitive rates, and secured / property-charge options for larger commercial installs.
Cashflow-positive from month one
On most South East homes, the monthly saving from solar + battery exceeds the monthly loan repayment, meaning your installation is net-positive from day one.
How the maths usually looks
A typical example: 6 kWp solar + 10 kWh battery at £13,500, financed over 10 years at 7.9% APR, costs around £162/month. The same household typically saves £1,400-£1,800 a year on bills (£117-£150/month) — and that saving rises with electricity prices while the loan repayment is fixed. By year five most homeowners are clearly cashflow-positive; by year ten the loan ends and the savings run for another 15+ years free.
0% APR — the small print
Genuine 0% APR exists but is restricted to specific lender promotions on qualifying packages (typically 24-month terms, minimum £4,000, subject to credit acceptance). It is never loaded into the cash price — we publish the same headline cost whether you finance or pay outright. Anyone claiming '0% finance' on a quote that's noticeably higher than competitors is hiding the interest in the price.
What lenders look for
Standard checks: residency, income, existing credit commitments and electoral roll. Self-employed applicants typically need two years of accounts or SA302s. We can pre-check eligibility via a soft search that doesn't affect your credit file before any formal application is made.
Alternatives to finance
Some homeowners prefer to draw on a mortgage further-advance (typically 4-6% APR currently) or use a green home improvement loan from their high-street bank. We're happy to model whichever route you prefer — the goal is the right system at the lowest lifetime cost, not pushing a specific lender.

FAQs
What people ask
Will applying affect my credit score?
Initial eligibility checks are soft and don't impact your score. Full applications require a hard check.
What's the minimum and maximum I can finance?
Typically £2,000 minimum, £25,000 maximum unsecured. Larger sums available secured.
Can I pay off the loan early?
Yes — all our partner lenders allow early settlement without penalty beyond accrued interest to the settlement date. Many homeowners overpay once the system is generating to clear the loan faster.
Does finance affect the warranty?
No. Your panel, inverter, battery and workmanship warranties are exactly the same whether you pay cash or finance. The MCS certificate is issued to you as the property owner, not the lender.
